Short tour of Rabbit Island (Okunoshima)
Short tour of Rabbit Island (Okunoshima)
Starting at ¥6,600 per person
Get a private cruise around the 5-km circumference of Okunoshima, popularly known as “Rabbit Island.” Round trip from WAKKA. Wander around this small island in Setonaikai National Park, home to around a thousand rabbits. This is a relaxing, fun package that includes laid-back time on the island in a quiet, tranquil natural setting. You’ll take a private ferry to the adorable, gourd-shaped island of Okunoshima, allowing you to relax and use the time as you wish. The tour takes about 90 minutes and includes insurance and rabbit food. Same-day reservations accepted up to one hour prior to departure. (Same-day reservations do not include insurance.) During the war, Okunoshima was the site of a poison gas factory. This earned it the nickname “the island erased from the map,” making it all but unknown. Traces of the island’s past can still be found in the remnants of the old structures and at a small historical museum. Optional add-ons include an up-close pass by Tatara Bridge on the return trip and a 50-minute guided cycling tour of Okunoshima. Get ¥1,000 off a rental bicycle from WAKKA when you package it with your tour.
