Ride alongside the calm seashore and head toward Oyamazumi Shrine. Once you step through the path leading to the shrine where sunlight filters through the trees, you feel energized from the fresh air. At the front of the main shrine is a sacred 2600-year-old large camphor tree that towers above, which is breathtaking. Here you can pray for safe travels, and after that head to the Omishima Minnano Winery, which is only a stone’s throw away. Wine is displayed inside the store that uses Omishima-produced grapes. How about asking a member of staff to suggest a recommendation for choosing a gift.
You can also learn about the “Hakata Salt” production process at the Hakata Salt Omishima Factory. They engage in creating products that revive natural salt without using any chemicals or food additives, maximizing the most of the Seto Inland’s nature.
