Ehime Prefecture is a cyclist’s paradise. There are plenty of places to rent bicycles along the world-renowned Shimanami Kaido and throughout the prefecture. That means anyone can enjoy the cycling routes here, even if you don’t have a bicycle. So go for it! Hop on a rental and try it out! Note: Cyclists are expected to follow all traffic rules, wear a helmet, and follow “Share the Road” practices. Be courteous, be safe, and have fun!

Wei Hua Hsuan is a former newscaster for a Taiwanese TV station who became an avid cyclist after leaving the station. To date, she has cycled the Shimanami Kaido three times. Wei has a wealth of cycling experience in Japan, so we asked her to share how even beginner cyclists can thoroughly enjoy the beautiful island scenery.
